Geometric shape
The story of the origin of the word “Geometry” makes up an interesting piece. It comes from a Greek word- ‘Geo’ meaning ‘Earth’ and ‘Metria’ meaning ‘Measure’. So basically it is the measurement of Earth.
Greek Mathematician, Euclid did some amazing works in geometry that includes the influential “Elements”, which was part of text books for teaching mathematics until round the early 20th century. Euclid lived around the years of 300BC and because of his contribution, he is known as “Father of Geometry”.
